Front reads, "I am at Deer Lodge but not in the pen"
On the house in the background "Copr 1913 By AS. JOHNSON JR." Note that the watermelon says "lunch." This is a joke as Deer Lodge is the site of the state penitentiary. Postmark illegible. Reverse reads, "Stanley Johnson, Photographer, Waupun, Wis."
Front of right postcard reads,
"Beer
Fun for All
Sam's
New Arcade
Glendive, Montana
We Were Out to Sam's
Sam's New Arcade
Just Across the Yellowstone Bridge
Glendive, Montana
For a Dance, Drink, Skate"
Notice the man on the porch railing appears to be opening the 'beer bottle.' Nothing on reverse.

Caption reads, "Have one on me" Artist dated painting CMR [buffalo skull drawing] 1907.
Reverse of left postcard reads, "Ridgley Calendar Co., Great Falls, Montana." Never mailed. The painting clearly shows discontent with the prohibition movement. The newspaper in the pocket reads PROHIBITION. Another postcard in collection with same illustration by C. M. Russell postmarked Aug. 22, 1908. Sender wrote, "Jim & I, will be there on all four. From Ole. The fid & organ" This seems to be a response to an invitation to some musicians (fiddle and squeezebox organ?).
